Twin Cities Diversity in Practice
Gray Plant Mooty was one of the founders of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, a distinguished group of area law firms and corporations collaborating on strategies to hire, retain, and advance attorneys of color in the Twin Cities.
In 2009, Gray Plant Mooty demonstrated its support for this organization with attorney and staff involvement in various events and initiatives. Judith Bevis Langevin, chair of the firm’s Employment & Labor Law practice group, joined the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice board of directors. As one of a handful of law firms involved in the launch of the organization in 2006, Gray Plant Mooty has maintained a seated board representative with Twin Cities Diversity in Practice in each of the past four years.
Gray Plant Mooty also hosted the 2009 “Mapping Your Legal Pathways” event. This Twin Cities Diversity in Practice event, designed for first-year students of color from area law schools, helped those individuals prepare for fall on-campus interviews. It also gave the students an opportunity to network with attorneys who specialize in certain practice areas. Approximately 30 students attended the event as well as 40 attorneys from local law firms and corporations.
