2011 Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers Gala
GPM was well represented at the 2011 Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers Scholarship Gala. This is an annual event benefiting the MABL Foundation which provides scholarships to Black law students in Minnesota and coordinates and sponsors other programs aimed at promoting and supporting the professional development of Black lawyers, judges, and law students in Minnesota. The event was held at the Minneapolis Hilton on November 12, 2011.
The keynote speaker was William R. “Billy” Martin, whose litigation practice involves the representation of major corporations and high-profile individuals in connection with federal and state criminal investigations and a wide variety of complex civil disputes, including employment litigation and class actions. The keynote speech, which was thought-provoking and highly entertaining, focused on looking ahead while understanding and staying grounded in the past. Prior to the keynote speech, The Honorable Edward Toussaint, Jr. was presented with the MABL Profiles in Courage Award.
