Ginny is a principal at Gray Plant Mooty and chair of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice group. While she regularly works with a wide variety of legal issues related to both qualified and nonqualified benefit plans, Ginny has developed a particular specialty in the complex set of laws affecting executive compensation and benefits, and frequently advises employers of all sizes regarding compliance with those laws. In the executive compensation area, the types of arrangements she regularly works with are nonqualified deferred compensation plans, rabbi trusts, executive bonus plans, and equity-based compensation arrangements. Recently, Ginny has been working extensively with Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code and has been advising employers regarding how best to respond to its complex requirements. She also does extensive work with benefit arrangements for tax-exempt employers, such as tax-sheltered annuity (403(b)) plans and 457 plans. Ginny is a frequent presenter on issues related to executive compensation.
Ginny is a former teacher teaching low income children in Title I programs for several years in New Mexico and Wisconsin before entering law school.
