Robert concentrates his practice in real property, acquisitions and sales, commercial development, land use development, common interest community development, commercial and residential real property litigation, commercial and residential real estate transactions, commercial and residential title review, agricultural real property law, alternative energy property law and senior housing development.

Bob practiced law in Glenwood, Minnesota, and Shakopee, Minnesota, before joining Gray Plant Mooty in 1990.

Experience

  • Formulate commercial and residential common interest communities (planned developments and condominiums)
  • Prepare and review purchase, sale and lease documents
  • Advise clients on multiple aspects of commercial and residential developments, including acquisitions, land development, governmental approvals, financing, and due diligence completion

  • Title and survey examination and title resolutions
  • Represents clients in title and land use dispute resolution
  • Represents financial institutions on property issues in loan transactions, including loan due diligence issues and foreclosures
  • Represents financial institutions in wind, biofuel, and alternative energy financing
  • Represent developers in senior housing developments
  • Land registration (Torrens proceedings)
  • Clients include commercial developers, residential developers, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs
  • Projects have included acquisition of 7,000 acres of northern Minnesota land for hunting preserve, real estate, and title aspects for financing over one billion dollars of wind, ethanol and bio-energy projects, establish multiple commercial, residential, and resort common interest communities, real estate and financing aspects of senior housing developments
  • Represented county, municipalities and townships as legal counsel
