Richard is a long-time principal at Gray Plant Mooty. His practice focuses on business law, particularly in the areas of family businesses and mergers and acquisitions. In more than 40 years of practicing law, he has been the firm’s lead attorney on a wide variety of matters, including the sale of Department 56, Inc., Bankers Systems Inc., and TSI Incorporated, and representation of the Minnesota Vikings.
Over the years he has worked extensively with family businesses, involving day-to-day business matters as well as transition of family businesses from one generation to the next.
He has served as a director or officer of several public and private corporations and foundations.
