Harwood, Nevin

Nevin is a principal focusing on business law in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate, partnership, limited liability company law, and related matters. He frequently serves as outside general counsel for a wide variety of businesses, from start-up ventures to mature public corporations.

Nevin advises clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, architecture, advertising, retail and wholesale sales, licensing, computer hardware and software, entertainment, restaurants, real estate development, professional services, photography, catalogue sales, and a variety of others.

He also acts as personal legal advisor to a number of business owners and individuals, and assists with their legal needs relating to matters such as estate planning, and family and other business transitions.

Experience

  • Numerous business sales, purchases, mergers, and spin-offs
  • Outside general counsel to a public company that was taken private and subsequently acquired by a strategic buyer in the communications and entertainment media industry
  • Extensive experience as outside general counsel to businesses in the design, manufacture, and distribution of products, both domestically and internationally
  • Financing and recapitalization of start-up, mid-growth, and mature businesses
  • General counsel and advisor to a variety of businesses, including architectural firms, advertising agencies, photographic studios, talent search firms, medical doctors, recording studios, restaurants, nightclubs, publishers, marinas, sales representatives, distributors, retail stores, and hardware and software companies
  • Representation of real estate developers, brokers, and construction companies
  • Board advisor regarding corporate governance and related matters
  • Employment arrangements, separations, and related matters
  • Legal advisor to individuals and business owners
