Anderson, Megan

Megan concentrates her practice in employment law counseling and litigation. She regularly advises employers and provides training regarding a wide variety of employment law issues, including discipline and termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, privacy and other tort claims, leaves of absence, compensation, handbooks and personnel policies, employment contracts, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, employment issues in mergers and acquisitions, disaster prevention and response planning, and workplace violence prevention. In addition to providing preventive counseling and training, Megan conducts investigations and audits for businesses. She also regularly represents employers in administrative actions and defends employers in litigation when employment-related claims do arise.

Megan has several special areas of interest and experience. She is experienced in the area of appellate advocacy and has successfully represented clients in numerous appeals involving business and employment disputes. Megan also has class action litigation experience, including in the wage and hour area. In addition, she is particularly interested in evolving areas of employment law, including pandemic and disaster planning and addressing employee issues arising from our increasingly high-tech world. Megan also regularly works with start-up employers to assist them in satisfying their start-up and ongoing employment law obligations.

Megan frequently presents on and publishes articles on various employment law topics, including disaster prevention and response, workplace violence, and the impact of social media and technology on the workplace. In addition to her employment law expertise, Megan has experience in the higher education, business litigation, and franchise litigation areas. She is also past chair of the firm’s Attorney Personnel Committee.
