
Kate is an associate at Gray Plant Mooty and a member of the firm’s Franchise & Distribution, Government Relations, and Intellectual Property & Technology practice groups.
Kate has worked with franchise clients to develop franchise agreements, draft federal and state specific disclosure documents, and assist clients on registering their franchises through the U.S. She has also worked with a variety of business and franchise clients to navigate new and existing statutory and regulatory laws, advise on trademark and intellectual property searches and disputes, assist in contest and sweepstakes programs, and assess federal regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Gray Plant Mooty, Kate worked in U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar’s office in Washington, DC, as a legislative assistant and a senior advisor. In Senator Klobuchar’s office, Kate handled business, economic, tax, housing, and consumer protection issues, drafting legislation and policy for the Senator for the Commerce Committee and the Joint Economic Committee. Throughout 2008, Kate worked extensively on the drafting and passage of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).
Immediately after graduating from law school, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Patrick J. Schiltz of the U.S. District Court.
