Joy is an associate at Gray Plant Mooty in the Business & General Litigation group. Her practice covers a wide variety of subject matters, including trademark disputes, contract claims, and mortgage foreclosures. Joy served as a summer associate at Gray Plant Mooty during the summer of 2006. In her prelaw life, she spent three years as a newspaper reporter in Fargo, North Dakota.
Experience
- Wrote, argued, and won a motion to dismiss for a client who was accused by a customer of destroying evidence the customer wanted for a lawsuit against a third party
- Wrote and won a motion to compel discovery
- Wrote a motion to dismiss for a client mortgagee that was being sued by the mortgagor’s tenants, who wanted the mortgagee to provide them with services promised by the mortgagor
- Wrote a motion for summary judgment against the guarantors of a defaulted loan
- Compiled discovery responses for a client in a contract dispute
