Bruce Mooty to Help University of Minnesota Regents Find Next President
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (July 9, 2010) — The law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that Bruce Mooty, a shareholder with the firm, has been named to a 12-person committee charged with helping the University of Minnesota Board of Regents find the university's next president.
Mooty, who received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Minnesota, has been a longtime advocate of the university. He has served in numerous community leadership capacities for the university, including as national president of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association and president of the University of Minnesota Law School Board of Visitors. Mooty currently is a member of the University of Minnesota Advisory Committee on Athletics and the Law School Dean’s Advisory Committee. He’s also cochairing the Law School Capital Campaign.
Mooty is a business lawyer representing and counseling public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions and other key decisions. He’s been practicing with Gray Plant Mooty since 1994, and for several years he served as the firm's managing officer and board chair.
