Aaron F. Biber Elected Secretary of the Minnesota State Bar Association
Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that Aaron F. Biber has been elected to serve as secretary of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA).
Following his term as secretary, Biber will serve as treasurer (2009-10), president-elect (2010-11), and president of the MSBA from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. The MSBA is the collective voice of its 16,000 licensed Minnesota attorney members and provides a forum for the discussion of substantive law; works towards maintaining high standards of professional competence, ethics, learning, and public service; and aids the courts in the administration of justice. Biber is the second Gray Plant Mooty attorney—following Clint Schroeder (1981-1982)—to serve as president of the MSBA.
“I am thankful for the privilege of one day serving as the MSBA president,” said Biber, upon his election. “I will work tirelessly to learn how to best serve the bar association, its members, and the public. I am most humbled to further my learning through such service.”
Biber is a principal at Gray Plant Mooty where he is a member of the Litigation practice group and co-chair of the Antitrust & Trade Regulation team. He served as president of the Hennepin County Bar Association (1998-99) and, since 2002, has served as a delegate to the American Bar Association House of Delegates. Biber earned his B.S., with distinction and Phi Beta Kappa, in Political Science from the University of Iowa, and his J.D., with highest distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law. His term as 2008-09 secretary of the MSBA begins on July 1, 2008.
