Gray Plant Mooty's Investigative Report to The Joint Committee to Investigate the I-35W Bridge Collapse

On May 21, 2008, Gray Plant Mooty presented the results of its investigation into the I-35W bridge collapse. Unlike other investigations conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB); the Office of the Legislative Auditor; and Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, GPM's investigation focused on:

• Information flow and decision-making at MnDOT
• MnDOT's organizational structure and staffing, including the use of consultants
• MnDOT's compliance with existing policies (and best practices) at critical junctures
• The influence of state and federal funding considerations
