Gray Plant Mooty fosters a culture in which people of all backgrounds feel comfortable and part of the firm's mission to provide exceptional client service. We established a Diversity Committee in 1993 to further Gray Plant Mooty's long-standing belief in the importance of enhancing our understanding of various cultures. The Committee is guided in its efforts by its mission statement, the mission of the Diversity Committee is to assist the firm in attracting and retaining a highly-qualified, diverse work force, and in creating an environment in which all employees, regardless of differences, are respected, encouraged, and enabled to achieve their highest potential. In pursuing this mission, the firm shall use as its benchmark the following values:

Gray Plant Mooty's diversity-related efforts are broad-ranging:
- conducting cultural awareness training for all members of the firm.
- supporting community cultural awareness organizations and events.
- sponsoring a first-year internship program for law students of color (and other diversity candidates).
- participating in attorney and staff recruitment efforts to ensure they embrace diversity.
- promoting diversity education and dialogue within the firm and our community.
Gray Plant Mooty's interest in promoting greater cultural understanding extends beyond the firm to our community. We are an active supporter of local organizations that are taking a leading role in diversity issues. The Firm's diversity efforts have been recognized by the Hennepin County Bar Foundation Annual Bar Benefit where Gray Plant Mooty was honored with the "1999 Hennepin County Bar Association Diversity Award," and our firm was the recipient of the Minnesota Cultural Diversity Center's "1999 Sharing Diversity Champion of the Year Award."
