We consistently seek and retain the best people. Throughout our halls, impressive resumes abound, yet egos do not. Our lawyers work together sharing ideas and experiences, working hard for our clients, and providing innovative solutions to their business needs.
Gray Plant Mooty’s stable and varied client base—from upstart entrepreneurs, to small and large not-for-profits, to publicly held corporation—provides exciting, challenging work for lawyers who like what they do and want to do the best job possible for their clients. On the theory that building a legal practice is the best team sport ever, we work in groups and as individuals learning from each other’s successes to develop new clients for the firm, and find ways to provide new and even better services for our existing clients. Our group business development methods provide an excellent opportunity for new lawyers to learn and for more senior lawyers, with the support of a team, to reach heights they could not on their own.
Gray Plant Mooty strives to provide an environment where employees feel valued, recognized, and rewarded. We hire individuals who are bright, personable, and hard working and who are committed to excellence in their careers, their community contributions, and their lives outside the office. In recognition of these efforts, we are honored to have been named one of Minnesota’s “Best Places to Work” as well as one of the nation’s “50 Best Law Firms for Women.“
Finding a Good Fit
Our lateral attorneys join our firm and decide to stay. In fact, 10 of our 16 practice group leaders began their legal careers elsewhere before joining Gray Plant Mooty. Laterals join us as individuals and as groups; 25% of our current attorneys joined us as members of small groups. Our experience and best practices with integrating lateral attorneys, whether as individuals or part of a group, are designed to facilitate smooth transitions. Our lateral hires hit the ground running the day they transfer their practices, and develop their practices with even greater success.
