"With excellent client service as my top priority, I'm always striving on behalf of my clients."

Previously a member of Capitol Hill, DJ Ringquist offers clients a powerful combination of legislative experience and litigation practice. From national campaigns to the courtroom, DJ’s joint skills have resulted in winning numbers for a variety of business clients. He has consistently achieved positive outcomes for clients facing litigation needs, such as:

  • First-chaired trial for national auto service retailer against claim arising from the loss of a BMW, obtaining complete defense verdict.
  • Prevailed in summary judgment motion for vehicle component manufacturer, obtaining judgment in excess of $400,000 for entire amount due on client’s promissory note plus attorney’s fees. Conducted briefing and oral argument for this matter.
  • Represented pro bono client at housing court trial, obtaining dismissal of landlord’s eviction complaint and expungement from the client’s record.
  • Prevailed in summary judgment motion on client’s claims against seller in dispute arising from sale of commercial real estate. Conducted briefing and oral argument for this matter.
  • Represented digital solutions provider in dispute arising out of its purchase of a competitor business. Authored two briefs, managed discovery, and argued a motion to exclude evidence prior to a favorable settlement for the client.

DJ’s approach to litigation begins with identifying a client’s business goals, however challenging, and finding a way to achieve those goals. Whether representing under-served clients in housing court or high-profile businesses, DJ equips his clients to succeed both in litigation and beyond the courtroom. His ability to understand the client’s needs also allows him to provide tools and strategies to avoid unnecessary litigation. With his clients’ business goals always in focus, DJ is a driven and thoughtful advocate.

In practice, DJ has experience advising clients in a wide variety of lawsuits, including mergers and acquisitions, trademark, collections, real estate, bankruptcy court adversary proceedings, personal injury, insurance, trusts and estates, and financial services. DJ also provides ongoing management and oversight for the vicarious liability caseload – across the United States – of a major hotel franchisor.

DJ wrestled throughout childhood and for the Cobber wrestling team at Concordia College. His volunteer experience includes coaching and refereeing youth athletics in his hometown of Fergus Falls, MN, and building straw homes in Chimbote, Peru. Outside the office, DJ enjoys outdoor activities and managing Gray Plant Mooty’s softball team.
